#FridayFive: What's on my table?

I'm linking up with Courtney, Mar, and Cynthia aka the DC Trifecta for the #FridayFive link up. This weeks theme was: What's in your gym bag? Well...I don't belong to a gym and I don't own a gym bag. I used to go to a health club but the only thing that I kept in my bag was a padlock. Don't ask.

Instead, I thought about the table in my kitchen where my boys used to play at. Since they outgrew this table, it has become a catch-all for my running essentials. I have a basket for all the small stuff I need but it is overflowing! I thought it might be fun to do a video log while I go through the box. And here we go:

And it was more than 5 things....#FridayEight?

  1. Love the video! We had custom made bottle bands for MRTT see you will fit right in! Fun to see you in person. I was trying to imagine what your accent sounded like.

    2. Great video blog!! Where did you get the water bottle holders and what kind of water bottle does it hold? I'm so interested in this. :) xoxox

    3. I misspoke in the video...they aren't bondi bands (those are for hair); they're bottle bands! You can find them here: http://bottleband.net/

Your video blogs were totally my inspiration!

  2. Great Wendy! It is fun to put a voice with the face! I would be all southern drawl...believe me, it's not pretty. I need to get bondi bands for the water bottle. Does it just slip on a regular 16 ounce bottle? My handhelds leak and this drives me insane. I also don't like the valves on the handhelds and prefer the opening of a regular water bottle with screw cap. PS. I think I've decided on a July marathon in CO.

    1. I'm all Chicago, or so I"m told! I love the bondi band. I've used it on a 16 ounce bottle and 24 ounce. It works great.

  4. I have never heard of tailwind! I'll have to check those out. And I don't do videos - I can't stand the way that I sound on video (ha). But you sound so adorable. It was nice to put a voice with the face!

    1. It's always weird to hear your own voice, I think...but I was tired and wanted to post something! This was kind of fun and I learned a lot about posting a video...

  5. Fun! So smart of you to keep all your stuff in one spot. I learned that the hard way and still tend to leave some in the kitchen and some in other spots of the house.

    1. Well, I do have another box of stuff by my treadmill too! It was hard to limit myself to only 5 things...as you saw, I couldn't do it!

    1. Thanks for watching! I misspoke...they are bottle bands, not bondi bands. But regardless, they are awesome. Used one this morning on my run!

  7. Loved the video ! I have a heart rate monitor that I never use either. I felt it constricted my chest and blocked my breathing.

  8. I have a basket of running stuff I keep in a cabinet by the front door - my headlamp and reflective vest are the main items.

  9. LOVED this!!!! Great to have a voice to go with that awesome smile :-) I have a basket near the back door (mudroom) that has all my goodies in it, and a shoe box underneath that has tons of race expo giveaways on standby LOL. I never thought about sharing the contents with the general (running) public......(stay tuned)

  12. Yey! Love the video blog!! Great to put a voice to the face :) I just tried Tailwind for the first time this weekend and I was so excited to try and hopeful that I would like it so I could avoid bringing a lot of gels with me to Paris....tell me more. Do you need to take gels when you use it? I wasn't too excited about the taste, it was a little sweet. Would love to hear your thoughts!

    1. I used the Tailwind for my marathon and had great success with it. I used the Berry flavor and looking back, thought it was a little sweet too. Now I'm using the "naked" flavor and that is just fine by me... I drank one 24 ounce bottle per hour, which is what they recommend. Fuel-wise, it was fine. I didn't need to use any gels. I did cramp at the end, but I'm not sure if it was dehydration ( I drank a lot!) or just my muscles crying uncle!
